Tea Tree Gully · Adelaide

Adelaide Rising Stars is a competitive junior tennis academy in Adelaide for young players looking to develop their skills and compete at a higher level.

Led by former international professional and 2013 Indian Davis Cup player Ashwin Vijayaragavan, with co-founder Tania Vijayaragavan overseeing operations and strategy, the academy provides structured performance tennis training for ambitious junior players.

Players are grouped by playing standard, not age, so every squad trains alongside players who challenge them and support their development.

  • Elite facilities

18 premium courts and a clubhouse rebuilt in 2026.

  • Pro-level pathway

Training built around tournament competition, not participation.

  • Complete development

Technical mechanics, tactical play, and mental toughness given equal weight.

Why here

Built for players who compete

  • Four floodlit hard courts at Tea Tree Gully at dusk, with players rallying under the lights and the last of the sunset behind the gum trees.

    Floodlit courts

Train into the evening through winter on the club's floodlit hard courts. No daylight, no problem.

  • Grouped by standard

Players are grouped by how they actually play, not by birth year, so everyone trains with players at or slightly above their level.

  • Elite mentors on court

Learn alongside touring professionals and Davis Cup coaches throughout the term.

  • Ashwin with his Davis Cup team-mates and officials in team blazers and ties at a tie reception.

Beginner and development group coaching at the venue is run by Tea Tree Tennis, led by head coach Jason Todd with his coaching team. It's where most juniors learn the fundamentals before they start competing — and where a lot of our squad players started.

Ashwin Vijayaragavan

Ashwin built Adelaide Rising Stars around a simple idea: juniors improve fastest when they train with players slightly better than them, under pressure, every week. Squads are capped and grouped by rating rather than age, so nobody hides at the back of the queue.

In his words

He has played at the level our juniors are chasing

Ashwin came through India's junior tennis system and into the national Davis Cup squad, competing against players on the international circuit.

That experience shapes how the squads are built. Grounded not in theory, but in what it actually takes to reach that level.
